What are your current duties?01

I work in a department that is entrusted with mail-order and BtoB logistics operations by our customers, and I provide optimal warehousing and storage while meeting with customers on a daily basis. Another important task is to manage our customers' important products using an order-receipt product management system that is integrated with a state-of-the-art warehouse management system we have built in-house. Although there are few people in the same department who are my age, my professional seniors give me advice on a daily basis, so I always have a cheerful attitude and interact with our customers as well.

What is the most challenging part of your job?02

We receive various requests from our customers, so in order to provide services that best fit our customers as a sales contact, it is essential to check the latest information while contacting our partner companies on a daily basis. I feel the most rewarding when the result is connected and the customer is satisfied. I also played ice hockey all the way through college, so I enjoy practicing my sales skills on a daily basis.

How do you spend your time off, such as on holidays?03

Currently, I refrain from going out as much as possible due to the corona crisis, but basically I often go out on holidays. I go shopping in shopping areas and practice golf to keep my body moving.

What are your future goals?04

I would like to increase my opportunities to have more contact with customers and improve my sales ability so that I can acquire new clients and increase the satisfaction level of existing customers. I would also like to improve my internal communication skills so that I can make the most of our internal resources and market Tokai Kaiun more effectively. I would also like to increase the visibility of our core business of port transport.

Message to future colleagues

In the logistics business, there are no fixed products, and we always need to provide services that suit the customer on the spot, so every day is a series of new discoveries. Reason for joining the company01

When I was hoping for a clerical job, I was introduced to a career guidance teacher. During the interview, they treated me kindly even though I was a high school student who had no experience at all.

Current Job Description02

I am mainly in charge of sales. Data entry in accounting software, creating invoices and filing documents. In addition, I handle general clerical work, such as answering the phone, responding to visitors, and managing equipment.

When I am able to work smoothly in cooperation with others in the office in the course of supporting others. It is also very rewarding when I am relied upon in my work and receive a "thank you" when I submit a document.

I had been working in the apparel industry for a while, but I had decided to change jobs because I was having a hard time making a living, and I was introduced to the company by a senior employee from junior high school who had already joined the company. Current Job Description01

I am engaged in customs clearance, which is a part of trade administration. Customs clearance is a full-time national qualification that can only be performed by customs brokers certified by the Ministry of Finance, and is an essential part of cargo import and export. Specifically, the main duties of a customs broker are to declare the value of goods to customs and determine taxes on behalf of customers. The volume of ocean freight is large and the amount of declaration is necessarily high, so even a single yen error is unacceptable. However, I spend my days staring at documents in a very lively environment, using tools such as telephone, LINE, and e-mail.

Because of our trading business, we have many large trading companies and trading firms as our business partners. Therefore, I am able to closely observe newsworthy events such as trendy cargoes and economic partnerships with foreign countries. It is very rewarding to see the products we handle actually being distributed. It is also a great pleasure for me to be able to help a customer who has started trading as a private business to succeed in his/her business by safely receiving his/her cargo. Since there is no fixed method of logistics, we can handle a variety of products in a variety of schemes. The fact that the company supports our free thinking and environment in order to provide the best plan for the customer's proposal is also a big attraction for me.

How do you spend your days off?03

By adjusting my schedule, I can take a well-deserved vacation, so I enjoy traveling abroad. Since I am involved in declaration work, I always pay close attention to declaration forms for personal effects and unaccompanied items on board. On my days off, I am completely absorbed in mountain climbing, and I look forward to Saturdays and Sundays while looking at the weather and the map.

What are your future goals?04

Our goal is to provide higher quality logistics services and satisfy our many customers by thoroughly adhering to our company's "onsite" approach and ensuring that we are able to link chains of trust. My personal goal is to be able to respond to a wider range of customer needs and make more optimal proposals. I want to learn about evolving logistics schemes and complex and diverse economic partnership agreements for smoother logistics, and I will continue to make trial-and-error efforts every day while attending training and study sessions.

Message to future colleagues

What do you imagine when you hear the word "trading business"? I think most people probably can't imagine anything or think that it sounds somehow difficult and hard. More than anything else, I thought so myself. When I joined the company, I had no idea what was right or left, and my seniors taught me everything from start to finish. I was just a piece of luggage that occupied a corner of the office, but the senior staff of Tokai Kaiun are professionals in handling cargo, so they treated me very kindly and have nurtured me up to the present day.
