Measurement Capacity
“Grain Capacity” is the volume in cubic feet of cargo space (cargo space), expressed in tons per 40 cubic feet, and there are two types: Grain Capacity and Bale Capacity.
(a) Grain Capacity
This is the volume of the area enclosed by the inside shells on both sides of the hold and the area from the top of beam to the bottom ceiling of the hold. It indicates the volume of bulk cargoes that can be loaded.
(b) Bale Capacity
This is the volume of the area enclosed by the inside sparring on both sides of the hold and the area from the bottom of the beam to the bottom ceiling. It is about 90% of the grain capacity.
